Grayson Hankins for Ector County
Lifelong Texan. Small Business Owner. Conservative
Meet Grayson
Grayson Hankins is a third-generation Odessan who has spent his life working, raising a family, and serving the community he calls home. A graduate of Texas A&M University, Grayson returned to Odessa with a commitment to building a career rooted in service, hard work, and personal responsibility. His deep ties to Ector County give him a firsthand understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing local families and neighborhoods today.
For nearly three decades, Grayson has been a small business owner and operator in the Permian Basin. In 2006, he purchased a local retail pharmacy and later expanded into medical supply services, growing the business by focusing on customer service, patient care, and sound management. His background also includes senior leadership roles in healthcare and hospice operations, overseeing multi-location growth, budgets, and employees across West Texas. This real-world experience informs his belief that government should be run efficiently, responsibly, and with respect for taxpayers.
Grayson’s commitment to service extends well beyond his professional life. He has been an active member of First Baptist Church of Odessa for decades, serving on finance and leadership committees and teaching Sunday school. He has volunteered with school booster clubs, served on local boards, and was honored to serve as Chairman of the Odessa Chamber of Commerce, working to strengthen the local economy and support job creation. His record reflects a consistent focus on community involvement and civic leadership.
Now running for Ector County Commissioner, Precinct 2, Grayson Hankins is focused on preparing the county for responsible growth while protecting taxpayers. He believes Ector County must invest wisely in infrastructure, public safety, and water and energy resources – while improving coordination between local entities to avoid waste and keep taxes low. Grayson is running to bring practical business experience, community values, and steady leadership to county government.

Issues
INFRASTRUCTURE & RESPONSIBLE GROWTH
Ector County is experiencing rapid population growth, and Grayson proactive, rather than reactive, planning to local government. His focus is on maintaining and improving roads, drainage, and core infrastructure to support families, businesses, and first responders. Grayson’s approach emphasizes long-term planning that accommodates growth without sacrificing quality of life or overburdening taxpayers. Growth should be managed, not chaotic, and county government must lead responsibly.
PUBLIC SAFETY & EMERGENCY SERVICES
Grayson believes that protecting residents starts with ensuring law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services have the resources and access they need. As the county grows, response times and coverage must keep pace, especially in fast-developing areas of Precinct 2. He supports smart coordination between county and local agencies to strengthen services without duplicating costs. Public safety is a core function of government, and it must always remain a top priority.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY & TAXPAYER PROTECTION
As a longtime small business owner, Grayson understands that budgets reflect priorities – and that inefficiency costs taxpayers real money. He supports auditing the county budgeting process, eliminating waste and duplication between taxing entities, and keeping taxes low through disciplined spending. Grayson also believes expanding the tax base through thoughtful economic development is key to funding services without raising tax rates. County government should operate with the same accountability families and businesses expect every day.
